MG Midget and Sprite General - Moss Wheel Silver Paint
Hi All I will soon need to repaint the steel wheels on my '66 MKII. Is the Moss Wheel Silver Paint, a near match for the original colour. I am not looking for concours, just something close to the original and not too glossy. Tony

Tony, only advice I would offer is, if you don't want to paint in 2-pack, is to use a blooming good primer. I sprayed my (late) old rostyles with normal boring primer, and rattle can silver, and rust was coming through after less than a year. The alternative is to get them powder coated, but may cost up to £40 per wheel. But be careful with that, I had a spare set of rostyles powder coated (for free from a mate), and the sealant caused a problem when put in the oven. Matt

| This is the Moss silver, on hand-sanded wheels. It matched pretty well, has a nice matte finish and still looks ok after one year. Richard

Richard, those wheels look great! However, one tiny tiny point .... you're in California, we're in rainy England!

Thanks for the replies. The colour looks good. I will use No1 rust beater then a decent quality primer before the top coat. Or Quick job and move to California....
