Gary & Gaps

yeah that's what I thought. I sold one to a chap in Devon a couple of years back for 150 and we were both happy....
David Smith

I saw this too. He's off to Australia apparently. Obviously needs money for his flight!!!
I did see MotoBuild advertising a kit for this conversion which included the bonnet and was for sale at £1500. New. Perhaps that's what he'e based this price on.
Neil K

He does say he will sell to the highest offer - about £100 IMO

Oh, and there is a very nice MGB Sebring GT hardtop on ebay at the moment ;o)

What that guy should do is get like 10 of those in near perfect shape, find away to ship them over here to the USA and then sell them ... Id bet he would get fairly close to that price tag

thats only like $1300 usa money, and a new parish is easily $1200

Id certianly be tempted...Its one thing for them to be expansive its another thing to not have any access to them at all.

So much for fashion - but fancy putting in you're desparate to sell!!!!!!

I wonder if Motobuild bought it to make a new mould for some cuious new variety of "Ashley" hardtop!
Mothy

Who knows?

There were loads of "Ashley GTs" at Brands Hatch yesterday.

I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

I can't believe that someone would pay £700 for that mess. I put my immaculate Ashley hardtop on Ebay a few weeks ago for £495. Fully restored and lined and I didn't get a bid, so I decided to keep it for a while. I've had it on over the winter but now it's off again now that summer is on the way.LOL.
I keep going back to that one in disbelief. I mean, how rare can a beat up piece of fibreglass be? No side windows etc. I hope the new owner is happy and also pretty skilled in FG repairs.
BTW if you look on page 31 of the March issue of MASCOT, in the words of Jim Bowen "Look what you might have won"

Bernie.
