MG Midget and Sprite General - Midget50 - Road Runs
All - now that you are getting your plans into place and talking amongst yourselves about road runs to Midget50 - please don't forget to tell the Committee so that they can be put onto the website - and get more people involved. Plus, you might find that there's already one from your area that you can join in. We would also like to have an idea of how many and what sort of time they are likely to arrive, as Bill is doing a sterling job sorting out the parking, but, it would be nice to get those of you travelling together in smoothly and quickly - and all parked together :) For those of you still waiting to buy tickets - all I can say is "hurry up"!!!!!

It looks like they are all out driving in this glorious weather Rachel, not that I blame them at all :) No But seriously folks if you post your run details we can get the spaces you will need at Burghley for your group. And tickets... What Rachel says
Bill 1
Looks like it's all "top secret" and they aren't sharing ...!!!!
rachmacb
Anyone going from Hertfordshire? My daughter will be taking me and we were planning to go through Royston up to Huntingdon, along the A14 then north on the A1. She got really exited at the thought of driving in a convoy of Midgets. I think it has to be the way to arrive. I am happy to rethink the route and join up with others along the way. Dave
D Brown
You could possibly meet the Practical Classics Road Run from Peterborough - just off the A1 - however, we'll put it on the website and see what comes from it. I've asked around Cambridge to see if anyone is going, but not heard anything back yet ....
rachmacb
I think the nearer you get to Burghley House the greater the chances of becoming part of an impromptu convoy anyway !!
David Cox
That is entirely likely - however, wouldn't it be more fun to arrive and park with your mates?!??!!?!?!?!
rachmacb
just booked my campsite tallington lakes i think there is some people there all ready just got the very last pitch spot of luck or wot if there is anybody there who is haveing a run in the morning i will tag a long with them plzzz steve.p.
stephen parker(73 oew rwa midget)
Got the car started this weekend - first time in about 18months. So just need to finish skim-fillering the new panels, shoot some colour, fit the MGF seats, a door and a front wing and MOT it in time for Midget 50. what could possibly go wrong! Anyway, reason for the post, when might we expect the M50 entry packs? As for the run down there, we're going to be taking it across a few days and spending a day in York on the way down. Can't wait, should be good fun! Got a new mini drop top for the extra car (4 people, 1 midget!) so should be a laugh. -Craig

I am lead to believe from those who know these things more than I, that it is normal NOT to receive packs more than one month max prior to the Event - I assume this is because MG owners are not particularly organised, and might lose them, and, since you can only get in WITH the Rally Board, then, .......! Do not worry - you've had your e-mail confirmation, and so they are sorted and waiting for the above rule to come into effect. WILL PEOPLE PLEASE TELL ME THEIR ROUTES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR INCLUSION ON THE WEBSITE. Thank you.
rachmacb
Thanks Rach!
C Robertson
Rach, don't know if you can be of help or not - I sent my entry form for M50 off at the end of February. So far I haven't had any payment taken out of my account, or confirmation back to say they have received it! Who am I best contacting/chasing to see if I am booked in? - Don't want to end up missing out! For your info I will be travelling down from York on the Saturday and I have booked in at Tallington Lakes. Ta, David
David Wigley (MK2 Sprite)
David as the money didn't come out of your account then I will check for you tomorrow. There are lots booked in at Tallington Lake so suspect a run will be organised the night before for the morning.
rachmacb
David - please could you contact me by e-mail at rachel-macbathotmaildotco.uk with your postcode as soon as possible so I can sort this out for you - thanks. For others who sent their applications in just before Easter - payment is being taken out currently, so, please don't panic yet! I've just been told that tickets are going "viral" - so - better book up soon if you've not already :)
rachmacb
Has anyone received their ticket yet? I thought they were to be sent out at the end of April?
Chris H (1970 Midget 1275)
Chris - I refer you to my answer to that question above! David - I have got to the bottom of the problem - all's good - e-mail me and I'll tell you privately :)
rachmacb
Rachel, I have emailed you my postcode and then saw your last post! Could you let me know by replying to the email I have sent you. Thanks for looking into it. Lucie (on behalf of David who is having kittens at the prospect of not being able to get a ticket!) ;o)
David Wigley (MK2 Sprite)
Rachel, just looked at the site again to see where to put details of road runs, but must be having a dim moment (have been marking Year 4 sats tonight though which doesn't help!) SS&NB area are looking at joing with Rob and a few other midlanders at Corley services for a road run up to Burleigh on teh Sunday, however, we haven't confirmed times or routes yet. I'll email/call Rob so that we can sort this over the weekend, but how much detail do you want? also do you want to put my email address as a contact for those wanting to join us? I'm happy to do that, but am seriously short on time at the moment. Regards, John PS my plaque and grille badge arrived earlier this week, and very nice they are too!
John Collins
I've got my pack! It's got ballooooons in it. I like balloons, but have had them taken away now by the g/f :(
Rob Armstrong
Rob now she has taken charge of them the bonus It's her job to ensure they are flying at Burghley, on entry. Fully inflated too , of course :) John C BURGHLEY I'ts spelled B u r g h l e y H o u s e :) teachers, I ask ya? teehee see you mate
Bill 1
Lol it is indeed an indictment!!! John - and all - you just have to email the start place and time (possibly a postcode too so people can find it) and a contact detail. Thanks - are you getting both midgets there - and could you fit a cello in one do you think (if it's good weather of course ...) Safe driving everyone :)
rachmacb
rachmacb, I'm from Lincoln but stopping over at Peterborough - did you mention a Practical Classics run or something? Any info on that would be good.... thanks, Neal
N Broadbent
The Practical Classic mag run is being run directly by them. They set off from Abingdon on the Saturday, stay in Peterborough, and then set off from their offices on the Sunday. Please can you contact them directly as I'm lead to believe that they might be on the limits of their numbers, however, I'm sure if you're doing just the Sunday their office to Burghley, they might be able to squeeze you in!
