MG Midget and Sprite General - Midget (mk2) 50. 2014
Could it be done? The mk2 Midget and Mk3 Sprite only ran for two years(I've got a Mk3 Sprite),so apart from the Austin Sprite they had the shortest production run and therefore must be worth celebrating. Any excuse to get another gathering of our cars. Then we could do Mk3 Midgets/Mk4 Sprites, and RWA cars and finally 1500s. Innocentis anyone? Bernie.

I'd be up for that good reason to give my "66 MKII a good wash again in a year or 3 ;)
Onno Könemann
Another pair here Bernie, with Sarah's 65 Sprite and my 66 Midget!
Mothy
LOL - Bernie, Mothy and Onno for the committee then! Funnily enough - it was mentioned at some stage that it was only the 50th for the Mk1 Midget ....
rachmacb
I have an early MK2 Midget (built late April/early May 1964), so would be interested in this.
Adrian Jones
Can I suggest a manly collor for the rallyplates this time? MG-Mk2/AH-Mk3, is that in 2014 or 2015?
Arie de Best
Arie, 2014 - the MK2 was first available in spring 1964.
Adrian Jones
I'll wait around for Midget 50 1500 then! :)
Steve H K-ser
Where can I order tickets ? And is there a website ? ? Pascal
pjw Seezink
Pascal - you will have to ask the committee: Bernie, Onno, Arie and Mothy - my vote is that we have it in Holland ... ;) Steve and I will have one on the Cambs/Lincs border when it's 1500 time!
rachmacb
The mk 1 1/2 (Disc Brakes, 1098 cc and side screens and still have the 1/4 elliptic springs) of 63 must of had the shortest production run
K Harris
But a bit of best of both worlds Clean mk1 looks an more power and better brakes M50 MKII in Holland sounds great ;)
Onno Könemann
I think the "Mk 1.1/2" still would be classed as a Mk 1, but who cares if it means we can have another "Do" in 2013, great! I personally haven't got a clue about how to organise anything on the scale of Midget 50, I was just trying to sow the seed and see if the various clubs that were involved with that one would be interested to do it again in 2014. It does seem that people on here would go to it. I know I would. What colour plate would you like Arie? Burnished Gold, Gunmetal, Silver and Black. Manly enough for you? Seriously, it would be great. Well, wouldn't it??? Bernie.

Bernie - feel free to email me!!! It was like a curates egg, but perhaps something linked to Spridget weekend would be pretty cool...?
rachmacb
"but perhaps something linked to Spridget weekend would be pretty cool...?" Rachel.... Do Sipke,Cees and Richard allready know this ???? How do you want to sqeese 800 Spridgets on that little piece of grass Pascal
pjw Seezink
LOL Pascal - they enjoyed Midget50 - so I'm sure they will think of something, and, since Onno is on the committee, it's up to him to find somewhere with a bigger piece of grass ;)
rachmacb
Rach. I don't have your email address, but here's mine. Above. Bernie.
b higginson
Well we have a trial run next year when we celebrate 40 years of MG workshop. So who knows we might find a place.
Onno Könemann
Have you published the rocker box racing rules yet? Gets coat and runs for the exit...............
Matt1275Bucks
Hmmmm... sadly, I don't think it'll happen... :-( Mark.
M T Boldry
Lol I refer people on facebook to the mgcc comments on the photos from MGLive - modesty dictates!!! I think that that's a challenge laid down by Mr Boldry Bernie.... Perhaps something different is in order though - something fitting for each version.
