JC - just find a garage for it to live in - and keep on at it - it WILL be worth it ....

As someone else has said in another post, you must learn how to weld until you find it relatively easy and enjoy doing it (this can take a long time but is so necessary if you are going to embark on car restoration).
If you have managed to keep the car in the meantime (please do) then you can start rebuilding it at your own pace.I think you need another car as well though, this project may take some time to get roadworthy and you will need some means of transport.
