MG Midget and Sprite General - Metro bits....

I'm looking for some MG Metro anti run on valves. I'd be happy to buy a few if I can locate them... I guess most will have been thrown away, (I know I've thrown a few over the years).
Any offers...?

Cheers,
Mark.

Australian petrol particularly poor Mark?
Jeremy Cogman

Sadly... No, it's the usual MGB problem with running on, but nearly all of them do it...

Petrol here is BP 98 'Super' (unleaded) with no Ethanol E10 (yet).

I've fitted them in the past to MGBs and it works on most...

They were fitted to US-spec 'B's - well, certainly the later ones.

Seem to remember that mark 11 Escorts also had an anti run on valve on a fairly long hose.
Not sure if they are available via the rally merchants ?

I remember those valves on Escorts. They used to hiss when you switched off.

Hi Mark, Phil Cuthbert has a new one (off a MK2 Escort), but it'll probably take hime 12 months to find it. Its in a Ford box, blue and white I think. They're getting quite scarce and expensive.
Cheers John

Ows it going Phil,
It's in a small Ford box, about 3" long by 1/12" by 1&1/2". It has a gauze type filter at one end and a pipe outlet at t'other end, with a bit of cable coming out the side. Can't remember which box it's in, but I guess by now you'll have them all sorted and catalogued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your very good mate John
