| Strictly speaking, in the UK you cannot order a new licence plate without showing proof of ownership - usually the V5 document. But I don't know how that works for people ordering from overseas. |

| Guy I might be wrong but I don't think you need proof if you're ordering 'show plates' those that will not be used on the road or they're going abroad |

| I suspect it was pretty unworkable legislation - there have certainly been companies selling on-line that couldn't possibly verify your V5, but worked on the basis of disclaimers and making nonsensical statements like "plates not to be used on the public road"! Guy |

| Interesting thread.. Here in Missouri, you can Re-register old licence plates under the historic plates registration, I wonder if that could be a loop hole for using old foreign lic. plates like the ones in the UK... I think they have to be at least 25 years old ... something to look into for certian. Prop |
