MG Midget and Sprite General - LED dash lights
Following on from http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&access=&mode=archiveth&subject=110&subjectar=110&thread=20111125220014733 (couldn't seem to get thread re-activation working), I managed to find some red led replacement bulbs for the dash, from a company called Futurlec (http://www.futurlec.com.au/LED_Lamps.jsp) however they are completely useless! Whereas the light before was dim, it is now almost non-existent! I believe that this is due to a bulb viewing angle of only 60 degrees, I guess that it needs to be at least 100-120 degrees? I didn't necessarily want brighter lights, just a different colour (I have read that red light is less demanding on your eyes for night vision). Any other ideas?

Hi Steve I fitted LED lights to my dash about a year ago. My son who lives in ST Kilda sent them to me from this site http://www.ledshoponline.com/automotive_dashboard_bulbs.htm#E10 They do white and Blue not sure about Red but might be worth an email. PJ

Thanks PJ. I had seen them and noted that only white or blue options. I have sent them an email (can't hurt). How would you rate the ones that you have? Steve

Also, I think these 5 matrix bulbs migt be a good option: http://autolumination.com/otherleds.htm

| Steve I have Blue and am very happy with them they look great. I have attached a photo which although not great will give you an idea of what they look like. PJ
