MG Midget and Sprite General - How to sell a Midget?
Hi, I have decided that the time has come to consider selling my 1976 Midget. It doesn't get used enough and it is fairly difficult to take a spaniel as a passenger. My question is should I sell it as a package ie. with hard top, spare rebuilt gearbox, full set of minilight style alloys with nearly new tyres & MX5 seats. or should I sell them all separatley? Thanks for your input. Kevin

Throw the spaniel in the deal too and ill think about it. :)

mabye the hard top would be easier being sold with the car. The new buyer may be put off by all the bits comming with it though if short of space. do the mx5 seats fit in a midget. didnt think that or the modern mgf or tf which ever one it is would be narrow enough to fit in but i know the modern mg seats do.

MX5 seats already in, I have the original seats stored. Alloys are on but I do have a full set of rostyles and tyres as well, I was just wondering what combinations would be most appealing when selling.

You'll never know until you advertise it. I would suggest advertising it as a job lot -- if wanted, -- and that you are willing to split. I can't see anybody wanting to buy 2 sets of seats, and two sets of wheels though. Esp' as Dan said, if they are short of space for storgage. But you never know, they might. That could also apply to the Hard top in particular. Some on here have commented that they are uneccessary, and hard to store. (I disagree). My advice is to advertise the HTop seperately. If it's an original BMC double skinned, and in good nick, they can fetch a good price. Possibly more than a buyer would want to spend as part of the package. Also, what type of g/box, and how well rebuilt? Could be worth a lot as a seperate item.

id agree that the storing of a hardtop would be abit of a pain depending on how much room you have but id say having one would be very helpful. not likely to find one for my car though as they are hard to come across. Is a company in america that makes them i do remember seeing but exspencive and thats before getting it to uk
