MG Midget and Sprite General - Have you noticed ------
-- a sudden increase in the number of new threads on the technical side, and a lot of glitter on the high street? I guess it's that time of year, when a lot of owners are either discovering "winter fault syndrome", or are doing the winter strip and rebuild routine. I wonder how many of us will be joining them. Well a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year to you all. lol I feel I can say this, as the shops round my way are already playing xmas carrols, and have decorated the windows with the whole xmas shabang.

The 1st signs of chrismas here starts around july 5, right after independance day... You have to look for it to see it, but its there, it becomes common on nov. 1 day after hallowween... And is a full on slaught riot they day after thankgiving.. heck people get killed just getting into the store from being trampled to death

Im planning on a complete front end upgrade this winter esp if work is really slow Prop

I refuse to acknowledge the word Christmas until it is december! Supermarkets tend to get start with small Christmas displays around September and they steadily increase until the big day! Bah humbug! Malcolm

actually washed my car today and cleaned the cabin ready for the NEC, narh, not on a static stand but ready to be run for the Sporting Bears Dream Rides less revs and a slow top end gear change this year to keep the fan belt on might also have a young lad with a 1500 offering SBDRs as we had on one of the days last year

Well, for a change all I'll be doing on my car is a good thorough wash and wax followed by a good interior cleaning ready for the warmer weather to come again. After a 2 year wait for my car, the summer sure went by in a hurry!!
Clive Reddin
Drive it Change engine for faster one And I have a whole list of other to do's But no summer winter division. Did fit a hardtop 2 days ago and this reminded me I still had to align my windscreen as my top now sits at aslight angle. The midget work just keeps going on

Perhaps there's a lot of me on the Tech forum trying to get advice to get my car back together. Need to get it together in hurry before Summer ends. Can't drive it until I do :( Put faster engine in because at the moment it only has a Flinstones engine. I have a whole (i.e. the whole car) lot to do. Yes it's a seasonal decision but down here it's "Get done for Summer" The Midget work will keep going on for a while. Can't talk now, work to do.....

Well, many folk will probably be thinking of what to ask the nearest and dearest for as presents for Xmas. I know I am! Although I have just brought myself my Xmas present this year: a set of Bilstein dampers! Just don't tell the Boss, or I'll never get the gearbox adaptor I want. ;)

Was going to wash and wax, and change the anti-freeze before throwing the top off for a drive. However, I manage to turn my ankle coming back from the pub last night. I'm now laid up, on the sofa.
P Ottewell
How many sheets to the wind Peter, when you turned your ankle? lol
Lawrence Slater
Lol Lawrence, the leaves were lying quite deep and I missed the kerb, the Draught Bass had little to do with it.......
P Ottewell
So over there you call it ..."stumbling thur the leaves"... Prop

Winter, the car's briefly in the workshop for a soak in Dinitrol, on with the mud & snow tyres, summer alloys onto EBay, then we're off again.

My midget is supposed to be my winter car and I park the Sprite. However, I discovered the Midget has a cracked and bent a-arm AND, it pulled my shock arm loose. I remember hitting that pothole and thinking that I was lucky the car didn't bust a tire. Not so lucky after all. ...waiting on parts.

My Midget's been running really well this fall, and I drove it quite a bit. So, plans are to get the hard top put back on and use it through the winter, any time the weather is halfway decent. Spent today shopping for living room furniture, though, and working on a door threshold. So, the hardtop is still hanging on the garage wall. Maybe tomorrow... -:G:-

Gryf, I put my h/top on again a week or so ago, (It's on and off frequently as I fix a roof rack to it), but the sun is out again today, on a glorious November morning. So I feel a trip to Eastbourne coming on. (Pleasant South coast seaside town). That means, off with the h/top. :)
Lawrence Slater
Yippee, unless its raining Top Down its the only way. I'm going for a drive today too, ankle permitting....
P Ottewell
Fantastic warm weather today. If it keeps up like this, it's turkey on the beach, and postponed work on the Sprite. :)
Lawrence Slater
Yeah...im taking my hardtop back off agian today as the temp is supposed to be about 75 F. today So im off to the car wash and take some photos for the the virtual car show on the mg experiance forum Prop

Top down and short sleeved T shirt driving weather today. Amazing for mid November, especially in the Grim North (otherwise known as the glorious roads of the English Lake District)

Couldn't manage it at the weekend, bloody ankle, reminds me of this years Easter weekend when the head gasket was blown and I missed the fantastic weather then. I'm out in her this weekend though if any body wants to meet up in the Burton 0n Trent area.
