MG Midget and Sprite General - gaps between seats and door
noticed afew times mostly when cleaning inside of my car that the drivers seat has a smaller gap between it and the door than the passenger seat is this usual or is it a poor resto job by a previous owner if it was other way round id understand it cos of the handbrake.

Doors are really hard to fit, especially if they are replacement ones, so yes, it's normal! If it really offends you, then you can alter it, but, it WILL drive you insane .......... If it's not too much of a difference and doesn't affect anything, then I'd be tempted to try and forget about it .....

It's a clever design that means you have to dislocate all your fingers or take the seat out to get back the spanner/screwdriver/socket you've dropped down the side...

Im woundering if the seat runners got reversed somehow...i dont know if thats possiable....might be new flor pans at one time and the holes got drilled in the wrong placement Is the seat caddy wonked,,,sitting a jar crooked, as id think the seats bolt thur the leaf spring bracket at the rear .... I think Prop

could it be a twisted or bent drivers seat frame as the driver's side obviously gets the most punishment I'm with rach if it's not too bad don't worry about it mind I suprised Prop missed this idea - perhaps the passenger seat is the one at fault - narh, just joking :)

Yeah its been awhile scence ive had the seats out....so I cant remember how they bolted down at the rear, .... well thats a Shame they dont bolt thur the leaf spring bracket...that would have been a good point to measure off from Good call on the bent runners...i didnt think of that Prop
