MG Midget and Sprite General - Frogeye horn - what type?

I need to replace my crappy air horns. I have the type with two trumpets and a separate compressor. They are mounted in front of the radiator where they make a great job of blocking the airflow.

What sort would you folks suggest? I see some Lucas spiral horns on ebay, which it's suggested are Midget OEM fitment. The listing says a pair are normally used (high and low tones). I'd rather keep to just one unit if possible because I want as compact as possible and don't want to faff around with the wiring if possible.

Any recommendations?

I'm using a compact air horn very similar to the one Trevor is using. I paid $19.00 for it on ebay. Compact, LOUD!!! and simple to mount and wire up. I just mounted it where one of the factory horns went, plugged in the factory wiring and off we go. Sounds like one of those Italian horns from the old movies. It has been there a couple years now without any problems.. I have needed it a couple times and it sure gets attention.

Thanks chaps. Think I'll try a Stebel or two.

Jordan,
Robert(Bob) posted a photo a few weeks ago in which you could see that he has horns mounted on the top of the right inner wheel arch. I thought at the time it was a good place for them, out of the way of all that road muck and rain that normally bombards them.

He might post the photo again . . . . .

Jordan - let me know how well they go!!

Guy - good idea but for the fact that the IOW Frog's wheelarches are part of the bonnet, so that wouldn't work!

Ahh! Forgot it was an IOW!

Jordan -- did you get the horns?

Not yet Mick - will try and get some sorted over Easter.
