MG Midget and Sprite General - Fortune favours the brave ...

... or totally insane!

He's at it again - Roy Locock is taking a trip to South Africa for charity - and due to it still being the 50th Anniversary of the Midget - he opened it out to any midget owners who wanted to go.

It seems an age since I went to that first meeting, but, sadly, my dad didn't think that 3 months of his retirement should be spent doing my horses whilst I went off on a trip to South Africa - so I've decided that I'd do what I could from here ...

SO - this is in plenty of time for all those clubs and individuals out there who like to support a worthwhile charity at Christmas time - this is a link to the page that you can give money to: http://www.justgiving.com/AfricanOdyssey

It's for a Charity called CoCo - and provides educational and health needs to kids in Africa.

Roy's website is as before for the Round the World trip - www.bridgetthemidget.co.uk - don't forget it's NOT .com!

So - give up your pennies in recognition of two mad men who are driving Midgets to Africa - in just a few weeks time now :)

Wish I was going too Roy ......... xx Safe Trip to you and Chris

great stuff if it's anything like my mate's run pencil's pens, paper, t-shirts shorts ect. are also greatly appreciated there

a few bits of world wide corporations' memobillia (like Coca-Cola key rings as only an example) can save some bribe money at the borders

I just realized Bob is right....im probably a bigit,

South africa...yeah theres a place id like to spend christmas,

I can just imagine singing christmas carols over the sound of automatic ak 47 tat tat tats gun fire in the back ground, sharing hot cup of marshmello co co with the local opium dealers, while watching the children dance in the street just waiting for father christmas to show up so they can shot rudoff and fry him up on the grill...

Oh yeah.....somollia, definatly a place for the holidays and in a midget no less, that shouldnt draw any attention.

Oh please please can we please do spring time in down town beruit...i hear there is still one building left that has a payne of glass fully left in tact

Now a midget ride across canada might be fun, esp with all the kodiack bear you can shot in a day....besides bears dont pack ak 47s and hi jack ships in the costal shipping lanes

LMAO Prop - you are indeed!!!!!!!!!!!

There are some lovely places in Africa - and you're no more likely to get shot than in America :P ;) Having said that, they are avoiding trouble hotspots like Somalia!

I was going to do the drive across Canada - but Mr Locock beat me to it :(!

whooops

Sorry Nigel - didn't see your message! Think I got side-tracked by all the men in skirts ;)

Yes, indeed, Roy's done a round the world trip, which was very successful - and raised lots of money for UNICEF, followed by a brief trip around the UK, where he spent time in many clubs talking about his trip and also a memorable day in the Borders with the local UNICEF committee chairman (my dad!!) in a school/garage etc - again raising alot of money. As well as raising the profile of the Midget being surrounded by lots of the lads at lunchtime!

Hence why I'm very keen to promote this charity run - especially in light of the troubles in Africa with famine and drought and all those poor children dying at the roadside on the way to refugee camps at the moment - so, please do remember them in your Christmas raffles etc etc etc.

Hey Rach, thanks for the plug.

We are leaving from the Market Square, Abingdon on the 11th September 2011 and all enthusiasts are welcome. It coincides with the Museum Runs, so if you are doing one of them drop into the square when you reach Abingdon. Chris and I will be there from midday until 3:30pm trying to raise some funds for CoCo.

I will be trying to keep the website up to date as we go.

Hey Prop, no spirit of adventure man. All the bears ran away when I ventured into the Rockies.
R Locock

LOL you're welcome.

Still wish I was coming with you ........... :(

PROP

Please explain which country you are referring to here

Support Roy's trip though :)

Onno - I did try and persuade them that they should come over the week before and stop at Spridget weekend!!!!!!
RS MacLennan Baird

their bad now they don't have a midget escort on the Dutch roads ;)

Have you become all official at once miss MacLennan Baird?
Onno Könemann

Very true - plus, at the time, there was a very self-serving reason ... ;)

LOL nope - the telephone engineers have made my line dead, and I couldn't remember my password properly, so, I had to be more "formal"!!!
RS MacLennan Baird

Prop - you appear to have mistaken South Africa for Afghanistan.

Been to both and I can tell you without a shadow of doubt which i would prefer to spend Christmas in ;)
