MG Midget and Sprite General - Expensive Frogeye
If you were going to spend £12K on a Frogeye, wouldn't you at least expect it to have a steel bonnet and a blower for the heater? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUSTIN-HEALEY-FROGEYE-SPRITE-BEAUTIFUL-RESTORED-CAR-/320793941575

If I were going to spend that kind of money on a Frog, I'd not only expect it to have a steel bonnet and heater blower but also to be like it came from the factory, bog stock. This summer I saw a 58 (AN5L3789), nine stud very nicely restored for $17,000.00 which is about GBP11,550. For that price I'd consider it but not one that's been highly modified.

What engine is that then? Strange place to have an oil filter above the distributor.

Its a later 1275 Marina or Ital unit. from that angle I cant tell whether its the A+/Ital unit. With 5 speed box,1275, discs and frontline front suspension Its quite tastefully modified and is I expect a great car. But I agree - for that price I would want 100% standard.

Uhmm, the description says 1100cc though.

The full description below does say 1275. Not the best/most complete advert in the world !

Oh yeah, true.

| I know these guys. They have a branch in Stockport and classic cars is not their core business. They are used fleet car specialists. The mechanical work on the classics that are for sale in the North is farmed out to a freind of mine, who's work I can vouch for, but I don't remember seeing this one in his work shop. Most of the stuff I have seen however, has been pretty good and this one is probably OK, but as everyone has said, with it deviating so far from original, it's just not worth that price tag.
