MG Midget and Sprite General - door locks

i know its abit of an odd thing to ask but when ever at a club meeting ive noticed that peoples door locks are in different positions some facing downwards some upwards like mine and some slighlty slanted. is this how they came out the factory like or were they in a set postion originally and with restorations been moved so on. just curious and do concorse look that closely (my car isnt any where near concorse).

If you take Nigel's advice and get a copy of the driver's handbook, you will see that they originally pointed downwards ;o)

Dave

thanks for that

James the whole locks can turn on the door skin it a common fault

you can buy a kit to stop this but its a PITA to fit

put stuff in your boot out of sight and look the boot, put a theft deterrent device on if you have the need but never rely on the locks to make the car sercure

ETA: Dave you can now take over as the Handbook Guru as there is a vacancy :)

not that you're not already a Spridget Guru in private
