No problems here in New Hampshire, the first I knew of the quake was on the 6:00PM TV news. There's some construction going on down the street a bit; if I even felt the quake, I probably assumed it was related to that and promptly forgot about it. I was disappointed to hear of the damage to the National Cathedral in DC, hopefully it's just bits of trim and the damage will soon be put right. A couple of experts interviewed for the news said that buildings (including nuclear plants) out here are only rated for minor quakes, and that should be changed as this area is not as stable as people think. I'm all for that, the Nukes at Plymouth MA, Seabrook NH, and Wiscasset ME are all built near the coast, on shifty sediments. - Bill

My wife had the Midget out yesterday in Durham NC and at one point it kinda jumped and made a strange noise. She thought she'd broken the Midget. When she got home, we were about to check it out when we heard the news about the quake. chuck

"Glad you're all safe :)" Yeah, and Saturday we will get a Hurricane as well. Gonna have to get three cars and a canoe into our 2-car garage again. A body does get tired of all this excitement. chuck

Thats what happens when you have a car that was built apon Austin parts (A35), designed by Austin-Healey (1958 frogeye/bugeye), redesigned and squared by MG (1961 Spridget) and mated with a Triumph Spitfire and a rubber bumpered mail truck (1500 1975)!!! But thats what makes them so great of a car! ~ Ron. -1958 Sprite Racecar -1971 MG Midget -1976 & 77 Spitf-dget

| I have to say that I did not feel a thing. My wife was dissapointed because she has never experienced an earth quake. I told her that its better that she doesn't. I remember in New Zealand which has a lot of earthquakes being in a building and looking out the window and seeing two buildings sway apart and I could see between the buildings. Also knowing that a place I lived in, Christchurch is nearly destroyed because of several earthquakes. Looks like we may get the Hurricane skimming us on Sunday. Lets hope it stays to the East of us. | LOL Allen - don't feel bad - there was one here the other year and I slept through the whole thing - woke up when the mare nickered in the morning to moan about not being fed early enough! Looks like there is now a chance it will miss you, so, hoping so |
