MG Midget and Sprite General - Dead stereo car amp

Some how my car stereo amp died, it, "Smells" like the rca jack connections.....not sure what would cause that to burn out, just wondeing how hard it is to fix something like that.... It was a cheap amp new...(duel )....got a qoute of $140 to fix it , I only gave like $150, 5 years ago....really dont want to buy another NEW one which is why im guessing this one is so expensive to fix , cause theY wanted to sell me , a whole new system....NOT!!!!

So im wondering, how hard it is to get parts, WHERE to get the parts plus how hard it is to fix something like this... compared to just buying a used one at a pawn shop or craigslist

You won't get murdered - unlike buying one on Craigslist :)

You will probably be able to source parts at a specialist store or more general electrical supplies, but, I don't know any equivalents in the States, so ...!

If you have a burnt circuit board and you don't have massive electronics experience scrap it.
Look at what's available now, you can certainly do well with $100 nowadays.
Wait - is this in your Midget?
I put a nice small radio / mp3 unit in mine, very shallow depth and drives my 6x9 Sony Xplodes just fine - not great but fine.
Hey, it's a Midget not Carnegie Hall.

In that case, here you go:

The best part is Prop that the parts required are extremely cheap, the problem is that deciding which parts you have damaged is extremely difficult!

With that in mind just have a quick check that the amp does not have a blown fuse on the boards, if not then scrap it!

Maybe it is the condensor?
