MG Midget and Sprite General - Castle Coombe in the early 80's

Anyone out there recognise any of these cars or drivers? I went to watch the racing there in 1980 ish.

That's Steve Dowler stood by 82 at the front, so it could be Tony Dowler driving. But Tony's not normally at the sharp end, so i am not sure.

That's my red and cream coach in the background, so presumably it's my green car on the back of the grid, unless I was in Modsports by then.

The Daf White car tucked in behind the red one - is that Peter Hiley? Ooh, it was a long time ago, I may have some time sheets somewhere, I'll have a look.

Think Steve (Dowler) eventually entered one or two races in the Metro championship?

That's him, with his brother Tony. Tony still does Metro racing in the Peter Best I think, Steve has hung up his helmet this year. The Dowlers live quite locally to me, we had a few good dices over the years in MG and Castle Combe events.

I've checked, I don't have any results sheets going further back than 1986. I *think* this is 1982 if it's early 80s...if it's a bit later it *could* be 1984 tops?
