Some how Im not surpprised, Infact Im not even upset anymore

so what was the old numbers ...210,000 gallans per day

the New numbers...4 MILLION GALLONS PER DAY!!!

Nearest projection of when BP can have the leak plugged... 4-9 months,


4 million gal. per day x 120 days minume = ???

480 million gallons of oil min.

4 million gal per day x 270 days max = ???

( 1,080,000,000 ) gallons of oil... UN-REAL!

provided BP isnt lying about the max amount of time they need to seal the leak

I guess the good news is, if the amount of oil in the ground is 11.5 billion gallons and If they cant get the leak stopped... then it will only take around 8-9 years for the well to run out compared to 27 years

Darn that big bad BP, they just can't plug an oil well that's only 5000 feet (1500 Meters) under the surface ot the ocean. That really should be simple, no worse than building a 1275 in your shop at home, you think?
It's a mess for sure Prop, but give them all a bit of a break, what they have to do is not easy to accomplish.

I know what your saying Bill, But every day is a new day with a new dilima with these guys, Im starting to think we need to pulll BP and hand over BPs checkbook and assets to exon mobil and let them clean up and fix the mess....once its done then exon can return what ever funds are left back to BP.

Did you hear on the morning news the oil is finally in the current loop, so wont take long now for it to turn north after fla and travel up the eastern sea-board towards canada then to the artic...Esp. now that hurricane seasone is almost upon us, Im pretty sure the oil cant come up the missippi or the Missouri river, But I think it can make its way to the Errie canal and end up in lake michigan as well as in david liebs backyard ... along the banks of chicago.. No doulbt that will end all shipping into and out of the canal when that happens...Hello massive depression! and super high prices.


esp. with the amount of oil we are now talking about, Its so do-able... 4M gallons of oil a day can go ALONG way.

Not sure that Exon Mobil could do much - remeber the Exon Valdez disaster - didn't that spill kill 300,00 sea birds - or put another way the same number as killed by pet cats every day in the UK!

Without turning this forum into Flame Wars I'd have to say to Bill that one would expect BP to have more and better plans in place for just such an event.

Even if they only had one A-team for all their offshore drilling they could have been onsite in 18 hres. from any base in the world.

BP's only concern with safety was how to pass all the requirements with as small an investment as possible.

Where Im comming from Is ....I can remember the exon valdiase incedint vary well, infact I cant belive its been so long ago, In that incedint there was ONLY 13,750,000 gallons of oil spilled and it wiped out 1,300 miles of coast line or 11,000 sq miles that has never recovered, its just dead water, no life and 1300 miles is like from my house to phils house

if the new numbers are correct then we blew past the exon valdies mess aroud day 4 and we are now into day 32...or 128 million gallons of oil... which is already 10x the amount of oil from the valdies

This has such HUGE reprecussions at a time when we the USA just dont need this type of disaster, this could wreck everything we have gone thur in the past 2-3 years, when you consider what we the USA are going to have to endure in the near future outside of this mess, this really could be the fatel penny thats thrown onto the mule thats already weighted down with 2200 lbs. Im just so afraid of what will happen when this makes the "current loop", when it does it will spread fast and will spell doom for the entire eastern sea board all the way to the artic, add in a hurricane... god have compassion upon us. It will be just like prince edward sound/perodue bay...dead water!

At some point BP has to come to the realization that there finished and wont survive and need to start doing the right thing for the future of this nation and the planet at large.
