MG Midget and Sprite General - Bodywork
hi there i bought a 1500 midget back in April this year. since i have had spent some cash on getting the mechanics sound (new rad/hoses, air filters, water filter, carb needles etc) but now wish to work on the body. the car generally isnt bad but has: 1 - front offside wing has bubbled 2 - rear paint has started to harden and dull, cant be polished out 3 - a few areas of marks/cracks etc so i need to decide what to do... should i get the whole thing resprayed? or just get the areas treated and resprayed? would anyone how much a full respray would be?

Point 2 on your list dude can be fixed. Feed it for a while with autoglym super resin to try and get it soft again. A skilled guy with a buffer will be able to bring it back up. Believe me, if mine managed to shine, then yours can. The bubbles and cracks need sorted - moisture will sit behind the paint and the errosion will just occur 10 times quicker than standard. If like me though, you enjoy repairing little bits, then go ahead, but like me you will also never be truly happy until you know there is a good coat of paint over the entire car again.

Hmmm, Are you sure you dont want to discuss religion or politics instead, Much safer topic...LOL Your going to get the veggie garden with that question... and alot of response Can you detail it down a little more... photos also would be great how old the paint is, what color, whos doing the work, what level of quality do you want, how long do you want to keep the car, is the paint color dark or light, is it a factory color, or aftermarket.. ect ect. BTW welcome aboard Prop
