MG Midget and Sprite General - BLEEDING CLUTCH

was bleeding my clutch and draned the master cyilder filled it up pumped the pedel until fluid came out of the slave nippel all ways filling the master up as i was done this but cant get any presher on the pedel what do i need to do

ps i have opened the nippel pedel held down close nipple on the way up

Close it as you get to the bottom of the pedal, not on the way up.

OK - just keep going if all was OK before and there is no problem with the M/c or slave - horrible job.

When you open the nipple, only do so by max 1/4 turn or it can draw air back in around the threads. Pump the pedal down with a slow and steady pressure. If you still don't get any pressure, use something to push the slave piston back up inside the bore as far as it will go and jam it in this position whilst you bleed the system.

i have just gone out and bought a Eezi bleed just about to try this will let you know how i get on

I think this has to be one application where the small cost of a stainless steel speed bleeder is money really well spent.

got the presser back gears seem to be ok could be better or is that just me that Eezi bleed is money very well spent anyway going to drive to my local

Even with an Eezibleed, I always push the piston back as far as it will go and tie the arm back with some strong fence wire. Even then, it can still be a right pain!

haveing a go again with this Eezi bleed went out last night still got air in the pipes some bleeding then letting presher bild up and i am getting lots of air
think this is going to work

Steve. Do exactly what Dave O' says and you shouldn't have a problem. This thread comes up every now and then and the answer is always the same. Get the slave piston right back, secure it and use an Eezibleed. Like the Meerkat says "Simple"
