MG Midget and Sprite General - Anyone want a rubbish gearbox?

Hi all - bit of a long shot here...

Got my old Type 9 left over, wondered if any of you guys/gals wanted it. Got to be honest, it's really quite tired, very whiny from gearteeth, it's high pitched - there's no dangerous bearing grumble. It's a V6 close ratio jobbie, cut to fit on a caterham long bellhousing to go with the K-series. No gearstick (I've got it on the new one) and one of the gearstick attatchment holes is broken (sort of still works, but is one to be careful with) I built a special bolt to keep that bit alive.

Don't know what to do with it really, as its probably too ruined to be any use as a 'proper' daily gearbox, - would do for a test box if you wanted to see what the ratios were like or to use it for fitting while saving up for a more better one (which is what I did), or for spares (tbh proabably only the maincase..)

It's the older sort with the smaller layshaft bearings, came from a Capri.

It works OK, gets all the gears and was in my midget for a year, but the whine was too bad to live with.

anyone want it? Might chuck it on ebay if not, I'm not looking for many beer tokens and could bring it to York if needed (it's in northumberland now)

Or if anyone has any other ideas with what to do with it. would make a good if very greasy door stop. Or a very unwieldy club.

Shoulda gone into marketing, Rob...

I'd like it but I'm miles away (J3 of the M6). I think it would sell on ebay.
