MG Midget and Sprite General - Angouleme - Circuit des Remparts

Has anyone planned to come over to France for the Circuit des Remparts, in September ?

Not going this year but went last year. Fantastic weekend. Worth the trip.

I thought there was a lot of the liquid sunshine last year.

It was a shade wet at the end of the race but the rest of the weekend was super. Couldn't get over the variety of cars that met on the Saturday morning at the supermarket on the edge of town. Wow.
Also visited Cognac. Very nice.

On the Friday evening, there's a concourse event, with the winners displayed in front of the Mairie, for the weekend.

Saturday starts at Geant (supermarket) carpark, with the Rallye Touristique, which is a run around the local area, stopping for lunch etc, usually at one of the local chateaux. Well worth seeing, as there are exceptional cars from all over europe.

Sunday is the practice and racing. The whole of the town centre has been transformed into a race circuit, not around a large carpark, but actually around the streets, one of the last proper street circuits left.

In all, the whole weekend event is extremely well organised and in recent years, has also had an english commentary.

Yes, we'll be there with the midget again.....Hopefully drier than last year.
