MG Midget and Sprite General - AH Sprite Bonnet Badge Question

My Mark 2 bonnet has a AH Sprite badge which is a bit scruffy and I bought a new one last week from AH Spares. I was about to change them and noticed that the one on the car had a silver coloured crest/coat of arms and the new one is in gold colour. Does anyone know which is the authentic original colour? I'd like, within reason, to try to keep the car as original as possible.

Was the original badge gold but faded to silver?

I'd have thought AH spares stuff would be spot on, why not ask them?
