Great News. I believe that eddie Brown will be there in his Ashley topped K series monster. It's a work of art. Also another Midget owner, Colin Sturgess in his MGB this time.

Hey guys... I'm delighted Phil and Rhonda managed to get to the Ace... It was to be one of the highlights of their UK visit.... Thanks also for making them so welcome.... :-) One day, Anita will get to the Ace, next time when there are Sprites and Midgets there, not like the last time we called... :-) Mark.

Hi Ally, The 2nd Tuesday of each month is Classic Cars night sponsored by Classic Cars Magazine. It is also the venue for the London Area of the Midget & Sprite Club (as well as the Lotus Seven Club). It's open to anyone with a classic car. The great thing is that they are completely fair with their parking policy. For example, if you turn up in a battered old mini or (in my case) a rusty old Frogeye, and you are there before Jamiroqui (Jay Kay) in his 300SL Gull Wing Mercedes, you get preference. This has actually happened and he had to park outside the car park which was full by that time. The food is great, real transport cafe stuff, nothing macrobiotic (is that the correct word)here. Their website is http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/default.aspx We are so lucky to be able to use this venue.

Hi Ally, I went on Tuesday too. It is first class. As well as meeting several other Spridget owners I meet lots of other people who are passionate about classic cars including some Americans and Australians who were in the UK to go to Goodwood this weekend. It is as well to get there reasonably early to get in the car park. When I left cars were parking on the road. Eddie.

I try and go most months and the 50 odd miles each way is well worth it. As Gary has said what I really like is the really eclectic mix of classics and owners. Smething "interesting" always turns up. On Tuesday we had Eddie's stunningly engineered supercharged K series Ashley coupe (photos to follow), an early Aston Martin Lagonda with working(!) digital dash, a matching pair of A30 vans, an absolutely mint unrestored Alfa GTV6 plus the usual assorted exotica and mundanity. The nice thing is all the owners mix from the chequebook restoration chaps to the young lad with the rusty Capri and there is no "side" to anyone. I still reckon most months Gary's Gaps gets more attention than most of the Astons, Maseratis, E types and othe expensive classics put together. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and thoroughly recommended. If you don't bring a classic just turn up and park outside (like JK!)

Sounds fab. I will have to rock up in my dear old F for the forseeable, but will aim to get the Midget there at some point!
Ally
Ally, you (or any others) could also go on the 2nd Monday of the month for the Petrolhead Nirvana meets at the Ace for a wide variety of cars Harsh and the PhN crew appreciate all sorts of cars It can get busy some months
