MG Midget and Sprite General - A few pictures
A picture of my Sprite body shell in the garage. Mounted in a metal frame and turned 90 degrees. Most of the paint has been removed to bare metal. I guess the next step is to somehow move the shell outside to the driveway and try to sandblast the rust spots. The problem this time of the year in the NW USA is that it keeps raining every four hours or so. Summer will arrive eventually. It is just frustrating waiting.

Wel done Michael, However I feel that turning the car by 90 degrees would have been easier that the whole garage ;0P

Hey Michael, Just a fast little short cut, now that the car is stripped... I have found just straight acetone and a green or brown score pad can strip the paint, primer, and fillers off in no time and is only as toxic as the run of the mill paint stripper,,,just use chemical gloves...well I Never used the gloves and am just fine, but then I think finger nails are over rated..LOL Still a NICE job and no doulbt alot of work to get to that point.

Michael. You've got it so clean it seems a shame to put any colour on it. Maybe you could polish it and put clear laquer on it. LOL. BTW, how's the singing going. It is that Michael McDonald isn't it? Bernie.

To Mark, I was wearing the prescription safety glasses when I took the picture. Can't see without them. BTW, I also have the MSDS for the chemicals. To Bernie, If I was that Michael McDonald I would be able afford to send the bodyshell out for a re-spray and just enjoy the driving. Sadly I am not, so I must make do with what I can accomplish myself. Thanks for the comments on the work so far. Mike

>>>>>And NO eye protection....?<<<<<<< ( From mark T ) well in addition to >>>>>just use chemical gloves <<<<< (from me) I did remember to wear ear plugs, Incase of accidental ingestion of the acetone in the ear cavity. I dont know mark, Do you really think eye protection is nessary? After all you can SEE the harmful flying chemical spillage of acetone coming at you, vs. hearing it as it flys toward you... Just my humble opinion. LOL... HAhaha! Prop...if god wanted us to use eye protection he wouldnt have given us eye lids
