Okay...i just wasted 3 hours tunning in the carbs, and got no where,

Considering all the crap ive been thur with fuel and this white powder crystal crap....it my fuel pump now knackered ot at the least effected

Ive got an electric pump with its own built in filter...i checked the flow the other day and ran about 3 gal of the old worthless fuel thur it to get it out of the tank

So yesterday and today ive been trying to tune in the carbs...i get them runninng good and let them idleo for a few minutes, nothing touching them and with out warning the just take off to around 3000 rpm and stay idled there ....so i adjust them and there running fine then it acts like it runs out of gas and wont restart till i richen everything back up agian and its back and forth

And jist going back and forth....there are no vacume leaks, ive checked all that...everything is tight.... Also it seems now ive got to adjust the a/f mixture to 3.5 turns and its running a little rich with my build i was running at 3 turns and ran vary nice there before all this fuel BS started happening.

So im wondering if the fuel pump is acting strong then dying off just going back and forth... Maybe the built in filter is pluged...if it is the fuel pump, should i even bother to try.and clean it or just buy another new one


How do you test if a pump is working properly

Propster. David DuBois, who has posted here frequently, has a website giving the instructions on how to test a fuel pump. Might be worth doing a Google search and reading his tech articles?
