MG Midget and Sprite General - £6 681 to the Air Ambulance
Just to let everyone know, last night the Midget 50 Committee handed over a cheque for the sum of £6 681 (and a few pence!) to the Air Ambulance which was raised at Midget50. They were very happy with it, and said that it would cover 5 or 6 rescue trips, as each of these cost on average £1200, with medicines/fuel/doctors/etc etc. Photos will be in all the club magazines etc in due course.

Universal insurance coverage is great. My son was air ambulanced approx. 100 miles two years ago. We where billed over $14,000.00 for the trip! Fortunately a loophole in the law gave us an exemption. If I hadn't challenged, the county would have a judgement against us. My insurance denied because there was no pre-authorization. i don't see how we could have the trip pre-autherized when he was cut out of a car and rushed to the nearest level 1 trauma center. Good work Sridgeteers. A worthy cause indeed Phil

Congrats everyone...that is great news On the surface ...7 to 9 trips dont sound like alot...but to a family whose parent or children are in need of that service ...it really does last a generation I think its great that you guys acceptedthe challange of such a great service Prop

Well done to all who made it possible. What a pity that things like Air Ambulanc has to be a charity. It surely should be made an essential emergency service along with fire, police and regular ambulance services. It probably couldn't exist if it weren't for people like the Midget 50 organisers and other selfless people who organise events. Bernie.

Looks like that money is already paying big dividends... The royal kid....harry??? Did a chopper at sea rescue ...saved several lives. I just think the fact the kid could have stayed safe at home but choose to hang is butt out there for some strangers ...is just so cool, i dont know if the artical was a fake... But if it is real, Then man i am impressed. Prop

I think that it was probably William Prop - as he's a rescue pilot with the RAF - which is actually different from the Air Ambulance, but yes, most of the royal males have been involved in at least the rescue service of the RAF - with others seeing active service as well. Dave - we did make sure we got your money first on the whole ;) You can't bank on the British weather and all that!!!!!
