MG Midget and Sprite General - 45 pounds to ship a grilled from England?
AH Spares just quoted 45 GBP to ship a grille to me in the US. That's $72 USD. I know they will do it right and it will reach me in good condition but wow - $72?? Ok - I'm over the shock and now just wondering if there's a more economical way. (Aw the edit function won't let me change the title - I meant GRILLE - not GRILLED)

Hmmmm - perhaps one of us 'buy' the part and then send it on. I haven't looked at the cost but it must be lower with say DHL

I've done that for a couple of fellow Spridget guys in GB and saved them quite a few pounds. I suspect it would work in reverse. Postal service is the cheapest I've found, but most businesses over here will only ship UPS or FEDX which adds to the cost for international shipments. Customs declaration as used auto parts with a value of less than $100 doesn't seem to raise any flags at all.

Royal Mail Air post has a top limit of 2kg, the grille will be over that when packed. Hence use of courier co's.

I didn't ship air post, but just standard post shipment. Most of that winds up going via air anyway. The items I shipped arrived in less than a week.

I just received a pair of tie rod ends and a switch from another British vendor and it came via Royal Mail.

I've just been quoted $57 to ship a dashboard from the US to UK.

Shipping for the package I just received was about $12.50
