MG Midget and Sprite General - 2009 Tasmania Historic meeting pics.

Hi guys
Thought some of you might like to see what happens down this end of the world. These cars were at our (MGCC) first full historic meeting last year which now looks like being an anual event There were a lot more cars than this but this is the most I can find in one lot - enjoy

Very nice. Thanks.

Very nice photos. It's great to see a course without all of the gravel traps and cement barrirers that are in place now. Yes, at times it may be safer b ut it's also good to see the races run as they were years ago with tire barriers and runoff areas. Lets you have a chance if you were to happen to go off the track to get back on without a tow.

# 40 is a FX model Holden
These were the first model Holden produced by GM here in Australia. The next model which look the same apart from having a horizontal grille are FJ's Both models were very popular early race cars here and are known affectionally as Humpies or Roundies.
There is a green one with yellow stripes there #05 - This car was built not all that long ago for the legendary Peter Brock to drive in England (Silverstone I think but not sure) He had only just arrived back from England a couple of years ago after racing this car there when he was killed driving a Daytona coupe in a Targa style road race.

Willy, Anita and I hope to be down in Tassie in October for a Historic meeting. Perhaps we'll catch up with you.
