MG Midget and Sprite General - 1974 Pricing

Attached is a copy of the Leyland UK price list from June 1974, I thought some may have interest. This was a (half page), (3) three fold-out pamphlet. I have only included the MG pricing because the text size is so small (sorry). If someone has interest in Morris, Mini, Wolseley I could try to scan and post that separately. These were the prices given for Personal Export (US) from the factory for European delivery. The MGB/GT V8 was not available for US export, legally.

My mum and dad still have the receipt from their Midget in 196something lying around the house - funnily enough - prices are still about the same, as I saw a really good 1972 one for sale yesterday at £1000!

Just goes to show inflation doesn't affect everything :)

Rach,

Good your parents kept all of that for you. We also have the documentation on our Midget, including the salesman's business card from University Motors, London. About a dozen years ago now we were re-covering the seats, and under the drivers seat we found the original build sheet from Abingdon. The registration tag 'PON307G' was assigned at Abingdon for legal use in the UK.

OJ simpson was just an outstanding Killer running back on the football field ... he could slash his way thur 2 defenders at a time with such ease, it was almost criminal how he was able to perform, yet was rarly ever penialized for it.

You all are making me feel old. I was (26) twenty six at the time, (but who's counting?) and still in the USAF. My pay was less than ($10K) annual, working on T-38/T-33 Trainers in Arizona. Big step down from the F-4 Phatoms we serviced in Vietnam, (3) three years prior.
