| Sounds like you need to return to first principles. Set the ignition timing first to the static setting with the engine off. Then set the carbs (I'm assuming it has twin HS2 carbs) - take off the air cleaners and look inside the throat. Wind up the large nut under the carb until the top of the jet is level with the bridge, then wind it back down exactly two full turns. Do the same for both carbs. This is the default setting. To start from cold the engine should need full choke. Make sure that when you pull the choke control out the jets on the carbs can be seen to move downwards. Full choke and it should start. Push the choke in about halfway almost immediately then right in once it has warmed up. Now it will need proper tuning - find someone who knows what they are doing to show you. |

| I would stay lets try simething a little more basic....and methodical 1st check to.see if its firing....pull #1plug wire, hold it about 1 inch from the head...(grounded metal) and turn over the engine with the key and see if there is a blue spark....if no spark, then let us know if there is a blue spark, check thAT the spark plugs the same way but ground the plug to the block....and see if there is a blue spark for each of the spark plugs....also what is the condition of the plugs Let us know what you find prop |
