Austin-Healey Sprite - Uncontrolled Idle with HS2s
| I finally got the hankering to do the usual upgrade to my '58- changing the H1 carbs to HS2s. I have the set of HS2s that were on my '62, so it seemed like a no brainer to do. I cleaned and regasketed the HS2s prior to installation, after they were in, I couldn't get the idle below 2K revs!- Took them back off, checked everything, replaced the angle locating gaskets on the float bowls (they weren't vertical)- found that the manifold rocked if not put at the right elevation, got it correctly situated, now it won't idle below 4K! WTF! I wound up putting the H1s back on so that I can drive it. Any help would be appreciated. TIA, Mark |
