Austin-Healey Sprite - Dynamo and Control box issue

Hi

I seem to have a problem with either my control box and or dynamo. But how do I tell where the problem is?

When running at idle the right ignition light is still on (no suprise there), however when I rev the engine to 4,000 + rpm the light stays on. When I drive it the light also stays on.

If I connect the battery terminals to my charging station in the garage and start the engine, and use the indicators they tick at a normal rate, if not connected to the charger then they tick really slowly.

I will this eveing get a multi meter across the terminals and then ttry to find some sort of documentation that might tell me what the readings should be.

Can anyone else help?

Bad battery or clamp connections.
