Austin-Healey 3000 - Trim attachment question

Hello,
I am normally on the MGB forum, however I have a 1963 AH 3000 here and I need to remove the chrome cockpit surrend trim. On each side as it ends at the doors, how does it attach? It appears there are studs through to the outside, but that is covered by another bit of trim.

Also have MGB LE and Healey. The trim that surrounds the rear of the cockpit has screw on nuts, and you reach through the openings in the body work, at least mine has , its a 63 BJ7. Awkward to say the least.
Put grease on finger, place screw in grease and hope you can get them on !!!!
