Austin-Healey 3000 - Beware Brossard Que resto shop
| From personal experience, and that of a close friend as well, I want to warn potential Healey, XKE or Brit cars in general, of a particular "resto" shop in Brossard Que. ..After four years of horror stories, lies, wasted time and money, I finally wised up. I spent thousands USD, to have my XKE diff and rear cage done, only to spend another$1845.00 for another place to redo it..the crook admitted he just painted it and nothing was done internally..I replaced the emer. brake setup twice, kept disappearing... My friend's healey was there FOUR years...we finally went there and took it, missing many parts, I might add. I 'd rather not mention the "Shop" at this time, as I am planning some sort of legal action, however, I will name it via personal phone, with many other horror stories as well..My mission, as he won't pay me, is to prevent others from being suckered in..Do NOT confuse the aforementioned shop with a legitimate , high class shop in the area run by Richard Grenon.. he produces top quality work..the other place LOOKS impressive when you arrive, the BS is impressive, but trust me, your money will disappear, with little to show...there are cars in there five years or more!! I own two MGA's race one in vintage, and one 63 XKE restored now by a legitimate shop, so I feel qualified to make these comments. The British car community in Quebec, Northern NY is well connected, and I know others may have had problems with this place( leased and soon to be sold I'm told) hint: get your cars out!! Please do your homework before consigning your vehicle to this "restoshop" Thanks for listening. | Addendum to brossard restoshop.. Since my posting, I have received two phone calls this week regarding customers with serious, similar concerns about their cars in this shop.. money issues, missing parts, etc so I guess it's working. We are working on getting more out of the shop as well, before someone puts a seizure on the place. Thanks for listening! All the best, John Coryea |

| Dear listers- Since my last posting, yet ANOTHER car (A-H 3000) has been removed from this "restoshop'..poor old chap had over70 k invested in an empty shell, nice red paint though... so that's two this month and more to come..thanks to some concerned A-h folks in Montreal, another person was saved alot of grief. I've given up trying to get my money, but am having great fun preventing others from being taken. All the best, John Coryea |
